Jenny Binsiar
Jenny Binsiar has lived in Mackay most of her life but moved away for nine years, during which time she worked with Indigenous youth for four years. On return to Mackay her work with young people continued until 2009.
Jenny is currently employed with the Domestic Violence Resource Service (Mackay & Region) as Community Development Worker. Part of her role is to assist in the organisation of the annual Reclaim the Night march, Domestic Violence Prevention Month activities and other projects such as the 16 Days of Activism held in 2010.
As well we being a member of the Queensland Centre for Domestic and Family Violence Research's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander reference group, Jenny is also a member of the Dilli Sabi Binalmunga Indigenous Reference Group and a management committee member for Mackay Youth Support Service.
