National Indigenous Family Violence Prevention Forum
The Queensland Centre for Domestic and Family Violence Research (QCDFVR), in partnership with the Australian Institute for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) and Charles Darwin University (CDU) is holding a National Indigenous Family Violence Prevention Forum at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre, Alfred Street, Mackay on May 19 and 20, 2010.
The Indigenous Family Violence Prevention Forum aims to:
- highlight and celebrate the good work that is being done by Indigenous people themselves to end domestic and family violence;
- support Indigenous people to share information and knowledge about strategies and programs that could be used effectively by others; and to
- promote opportunities for networking between Indigenous workers in the field of domestic and family violence prevention.
The registration fee, which includes the forum dinner and karaoke, reflects the two types of forum attendees, as below:
- $300 for Indigenous attendees; and
- $400 for all other attendees

CDFVR receives defined term funding from the Queensland Department of Communities to undertake research, evaluation, sector development and community engagement on issues pertaining to the prevention of domestic and family violence in Queensland.
